Lead statuses (sometimes called lifecycle stages) track where each contact sits in your sales process — for example New, Working, Qualified, Customer, or Lost. They are fully customisable to match how your team sells.
Open Contacts → Contact Settings and find the Lead Statuses section. From there you can add a status, rename it, reorder the list, and remove statuses you do not use.
Each status has a colour, set with the colour picker. The colour is used wherever the status appears — the table badge, filters, and the contact detail page. Drag statuses to set their order, which should usually mirror the real progression of your pipeline.
A contact's lead status is editable inline from the Quick Edit card on the detail page, or in bulk from the contacts table. The Email Inbox also lets you change a status while reading a reply.
The per-contact AI agent uses lead status as one of its scoring signals — a contact marked Qualified is weighted differently from one marked New. Keeping statuses accurate makes lead scores and next-best-action suggestions more reliable.
